We built our house four years ago, but unfortunately, we didn’t consider our living area well enough. Now we’re stuck and don’t know what to do. The wall color and the placement of the sofa (Sofacompany Dane 2.85m x 2.85m (9.35 ft x 9.35 ft)) are giving us headaches. Maybe you have a bright idea for arranging this space.

Who are we? A family of five.

At Westwing, you can have a room designed for a small amount of money...
Maybe something to consider.

I usually prefer the country house style, but even I like your room.
It’s really not that bad.
The only thing missing is some color on the white wall — as suggested, check out Alpina — and then a nice (acoustic) picture.

Hello, I would like to thank everyone who gave me so many great suggestions. I haven’t been able to try everything yet, but I’ll just show you a rearrangement of how things currently stand. However, there are no new furniture or wall colors yet. The sofa is modular, so we simply pulled it apart. The TV should be a bit smaller and placed on the wall between the two windows.

Since my husband also insists on having a TV in the living room, I can perhaps offer you a tip:
There is a manufacturer from South Korea (I’m leaving out the name as I’m not sure if that would be considered unauthorized advertising) that produces TVs which, when translated from English to German, are simply called “frames.” They have a very elegant design and include a motion sensor. When someone approaches, the screen does not show the usual black-on-black but displays an image that you can select yourself from a massive database. They come in various sizes, and since this TV is extremely thin, it genuinely looks like a picture hanging on the wall.

Reducing the size of the media cabinet and moving it out of the optimal viewing angle?! If you want to provoke endless frustration, signal interference, and poor internet connection...
I wouldn’t do it!

In my opinion, it’s difficult to arrange rooms comfortably in typical standard houses with a TV if there isn’t a separate TV room. The TV somehow always gets in the way. But some of us have no choice (currently in I’m-making-a-sacrifice-for-my-marriage mode). ;-)

Hello to both of you! I know the TV that looks like a picture or painting—let’s see if the price isn’t too high.
You mean reducing the size of the TV would be a mistake!? My husband has already accepted it and now sees the TV as a big black hole.
