We built our house four years ago, but unfortunately, we didn’t consider our living area well enough. Now we’re stuck and don’t know what to do. The wall color and the placement of the sofa (Sofacompany Dane 2.85m x 2.85m (9.35 ft x 9.35 ft)) are giving us headaches. Maybe you have a bright idea for arranging this space.
Who are we? A family of five.

Wall color light greenPhew... light green... 🤨 that can be really misleading... it often ends up looking kind of “minty.”Is the discomfort caused by the color/decor or the acoustics?
Our living room looks similar to your first version. We have several beautiful vacation photos printed on canvas in our apartment. One large picture hangs behind our sofa, where in your setup there is a large white wall.
This adds color and also helps absorb sound.

Even though it won't help you now, your floor plan and your experience clearly show what is often suggested and recommended here: swap the kitchen and the living room!
Now I'm keeping my fingers crossed that you manage to make it even cozier. I think it lacks wood. And I wouldn’t choose gray as a wall color as well, since it’s already quite gray all around.

Costruttrice20 Jul 2022 17:35As already suggested here, I would try rotating the sofa so that the backrest faces the room or the dining table, making the corner of the sofa look smaller and cozier. Then place the TV on the wall where the mirror is currently. You could try this arrangement for a while to see if it feels better.
If not, then consider a room divider, possibly starting with an inexpensive solution before having something custom-made—like a wall where the TV could also go, provided that electrical connections can be arranged there.
I definitely wouldn’t choose green as a color; I don’t think it fits the overall style. If the space feels too cold and noise is also an issue, how about acoustic panels? You could cover a wall or a corner with them. Look up “Woodupp” online, but you can find cheaper options at hardware stores like Bauhaus.
