Hello, I’m Christina (new to the forum)!

We are currently building a house and, once the project is completed, are considering adding a pool in the garden. What are your experiences? Can it be done as a DIY project? What type of heating have you chosen? How did it go for you?

Thanks in advance and best regards,
Christina

We didn’t build it; it was simply too late for us.

The pool contractor had ideas on how to implement it, but that would have meant reopening parts of the garden that were already completed, and so on.

Right, once the landscaping is finished, the issue is settled!
No. Many people have built or are building a pool in their garden since the pandemic started. It’s always possible if you really want to.

There are good reasons why this is not possible for us right now. But generalizing is always easy…

It’s always a question of effort. It is certainly doable.

However, I can understand if someone decides against it.

That's correct, it would definitely be doable.

However, some people simply lack the foresight to see that there are reasons why one ultimately decides against it.

Have you also considered Swimspar pools? They are “only” 2.25 meters (7 feet 5 inches) wide but come in various lengths with counter-current systems and massage jets, etc.… Maybe something worth considering for some of you!
