ᐅ Gas Prices – Where Is Gas Still Affordable?

Good morning,

I just received a steep price increase from my energy provider enercity, raising the cost to 15 cents per kWh starting in August. That’s really tough, and I think prices will rise even further.

It’s a strange feeling to be thrown back so quickly into an energy supply situation where you have to figure out how to keep the house warm. It seems to me that the government has given up on the goal of enabling everyone to adequately cover at least their basic needs.

Goodbye central supply structures; now the winner is whoever has solar panels and a heat pump in their new build, while the others are left out.

Welcome back, coal heating 😕

Frustrated regards,

You really need to do your research before posting in forums. Gerd is not involved in the energy transition at all. And the subsidy profiteers are sitting at RWE and similar companies. These figures can also be found quite easily.
Without the gas supplied through Gas-Gerd, unfortunately, your energy transition is doomed, because only gas power plants can be adjusted quickly enough. Dream over, reality surcharge. Does it already hurt?

I'm curious: Does a soldier like that automatically make a worse fighter?

Hello Pinkiponk

Not necessarily, but the chances are higher. I wouldn’t want to take any risks.
I have commanded over 100 soldiers in the field at times. When I gave an order, I had to expect the soldiers to follow it.
If the night before I had seen someone in a blonde wig and a yellow taffeta dress in a bar, it would be hard for me to trust that person to secure my flank. It would be more likely that they would be assigned to front reconnaissance.
If a woman is lying on the beach in a bikini and supports me in full gear the next day, what would be wrong with that?

What is so hard to understand about that?
That there can never be a complete calm with no wind across all of Europe at the same time?
Actually, nothing.

Really solar thermal? In our region, it spends about 90% of the time just waiting. I can’t imagine that in a country where water is already scarce, there would be such a high demand for hot water that it would be worth expanding on a large scale...
The space and money would be far better invested in photovoltaic panels. At least during the day, that helps stabilize the grid and especially in industrial areas enables a lot of replacement of old combustion engines.

Thank you for your question, you are right. I meant photovoltaic. I have been careless in this regard and sometimes use both terms synonymously (since both are powered by the sun), even though I am aware of the differences and almost always mean the other of the two technologies. This causes misunderstandings, so I will be more precise in the future.

Yesterday, during the handover of our heating system, I double-checked with our heating installer that we can switch our gas heating to a heat pump at any time if we want to.

Of course, you can switch to a heat pump. Whether it will operate efficiently is another question. (The installer doesn’t really care about that.)
What is the pipe spacing of the underfloor heating, and what is the heating load of the house?

Well – even in the worst case, it’s still a new building. A heat pump with radiators doesn’t cost more than about fifty dollars per month.
