Hello,

does anyone have experience with Meister design flooring? We wanted to renovate our floor and initially planned to buy laminate, but the advisor said that a Meister floor covering is better and of higher quality. Now we wanted to ask here what your experiences with it are.

That’s why I’m asking here if anyone has experience with this type of flooring. The floor we liked is the Design Floor 1-strip DD 350 S. If you search for it on Google, you’ll find it under Meister Design Floor further down.

I assume your consultant at Meister means the vinyl flooring when referring to design floors. We have that in our kitchen, and in my opinion, that’s really the only place it’s suitable for. At most, it could also work in a hallway. Advantage: comes in many patterns, easy to install, and easy to replace if damaged. Disadvantage: it feels somewhat cold or uninviting, as it has a bit of a linoleum vibe, it’s relatively expensive, and definitely not as durable as advertised. Scratches appear very quickly, but they can be easily removed by applying heat.

What does HDF board mean? Isn’t the floor higher quality than laminate?

In other words: PVC.
Disposal is difficult.
It is actually quite hard and brittle, and only becomes elastic and soft with significant amounts of plasticizers.
There are areas in the house where PVC still makes sense (waste pipes, but also window frames – partly because better alternatives are considerably more expensive). Whether it is suitable for floors is something everyone has to decide for themselves.
