Hello,
with the existing floor plan, we have currently planned the following kitchen layout.
The total area of the kitchen with the dining corner is 21 sqm (226 sq ft), and the length of the room (wall with the kitchen units) is 440 cm (14 ft 5 inches).
A kitchen island is planned, but purely as a work surface (no stove), possibly with open cabinets underneath;
and optionally with a raised section at the end of the island so it can serve as a kind of bar.
Note: In the rendered image, the colors and designs (wall shelf, island, sink, etc.) are just examples (as rendered by Sweet3D), the main focus is on the arrangement and sequence of cabinets and appliances.
It might also be nice to have a (small) work surface in the window corner (facing southwest, evening sun).
Currently, the dishwasher is planned there, close to the sink, and the open door is hardly an issue (because it is along the wall).
Any ideas, comments, suggestions?
Good luck,
martin

In our first kitchen, we had the classic carousel for the corner. It has been used in the garage for over 10 years and still works.
Quality from 1996 😉

Objection. This actually utilizes the last corner. I agree with that 🙂
So, I have often read about the “problem” with the LeMans and the better dead corner, understood it, but also tried it out for myself. And the fact is, pots and pans are round and they also waste space in a 60cm (24 inch) pull-out. So, based on real tests, I would actually fit fewer pots in a 60cm (24 inch) unit with a dead corner than I currently do with my LeMans.

Thanks for the tip, that might be an option.
Although we are reluctant to give up one of the two tall cabinets we have planned.
A small microwave might also be placed inside the cabinet near the patio door. I’ll show you a picture of the cabinet as I picture it. The microwave is behind the "flap," directly above the stove. You can leave the flap open or close it for a neater appearance. Next to the tall cabinet, you can install a narrow pull-out pantry cabinet. We always find those practical for baking supplies (flour, sugar, etc.).
Why don’t you design it with a kitchen planning tool (you can also model the room there) so you can access the underlying system (cabinets, etc.), and when you’re done, transfer it into your 3D program?
Where your shelf currently is, I would place a large French door refrigerator. The gap between the fridge and the island should be about 1m (but not smaller).
I would also fully utilize the available height. We still have about 20cm (8 inches) of space above, but now I would raise the wall cabinets as high as possible at any time.
"I'll show you a picture of the cabinet as I imagine it. The microwave is behind the 'flap,' directly above the stove. You can leave the flap open, and if you want it to look tidy, just close it."
Yes, that’s how I understood it too. But still, you end up "losing" part of the (originally planned) tall cabinet volume.
"Next to the tall cabinet, you can install a slim pull-out pantry cabinet. We always find those practical for baking supplies (flour, sugar, etc.)."
We have a pull-out pantry cabinet (210cm (7 feet) high, 30cm (12 inches) wide), but after 25 years we never really got completely used to it.

Yes, that’s what I’m doing now.
But basically almost all the cabinets installed (width, height, depth) are available in these planners, just as I created them.
"Where your shelf is now, I would place a large French door refrigerator."
We had that idea too, of course, but we want to keep the option open to use that area (temporarily remove the shelf or maybe it won’t end up there at all) for seating (adding a narrow table); otherwise, the patio door won’t open.
"I would also use the full height."
My wife is short and prefers lower cabinet heights and fewer tall cabinets...
