we are currently building a semi-detached house and are thinking about the interior design.
Attached is the relevant room. We have planned a large living/dining/kitchen area:
The living/dining room measures 7.41 meters (24 feet) in width and 5.42 meters (18 feet) in depth.
The kitchen is 13.5 square meters (145 square feet).
The red beam in the middle will be a low partition unit with a swivel TV. The dining area will be furnished with an 8-seat dining table.
Now we are planning the living room: How can we arrange it sensibly without blocking the access to the sliding patio door?
We have 5.42 meters (18 feet) in length. We were thinking of a large sofa, about 3.5 meters (11.5 feet) wide. This would leave enough space below for the door and above for the glass panel. We could possibly add a footstool in front to create a lounge area. An L-shaped sofa or something with a recliner seems unsuitable to us.
What ideas do you have?

What ideas do you have? It’s a matter of personal taste or style, depending on how you envision it for yourself. Planning is often based on the desired furniture layout – so in that regard, the question comes a bit too late. One might think that self-builders have a hard time with their personal style: furnishing questions are common here in the forum 😀
