Hello everyone,

We had an induction cooktop installed, and both of us are quite sensitive to the magnetic field. My wife and I both notice it while the cooktop is running, experiencing a pressure-like sensation in our heads.

We have now looked at other induction cooktops, and while the effect is less noticeable with some of them, it is still sometimes perceptible. Now we are considering switching to a traditional cooktop.

What are your thoughts on this? Are you familiar with this phenomenon? Overall, I find induction very practical, but in the long term, it seems too problematic for us given our sensitivity.

What exactly are you expecting? If the induction cooktop isn’t working well for you, then remove it and have one installed that doesn’t cause you any problems. What good does it do you to know that I don’t have an issue with it?

How are you supposed to test that beforehand?

If it really depends on the magnetic field, choose gas or electric. If it’s about the noise, test it at a specialized store.

If the issue only appears over the long term, there is no way to test it in advance.

How do you perceive the magnetic field with this method? Is it similar for you as it is with homing pigeons?

I would recommend trying a different cookware set. Some of my cheap pots produce a really awful noise that goes straight to the bone.

I have just replaced a glass-ceramic electric cooktop with another glass-ceramic electric cooktop. I did not switch to induction. In my opinion, cooking is still very good with this.

Induction is not a must for flavorful dishes ...
