ᐅ How to Seal Electrical Conduits for Cable Penetrations?

Hello,

what is the best way to seal the four HT pipes? Standard HT caps unfortunately do not fit because the connections have been cut off.

Are there other types of caps available? Or should I just use rags? My idea was to use expanding foam. Is there any reason against this? It just doesn’t look very neat.

Thanks!
Marius

What’s wrong with using expanding foam?

That’s underground, so no one can find the way…

If you want to be on the safe side, fill it with flowable mortar.

I would be more worried about accidentally throwing something in there.

That would require a lot of mortar. Why not use expanding foam?

The insects chew through the expanding foam…

Okay, then I will apply expanding foam and put liquid mortar on top of that. I don’t need to flood the entire pipe.

I would stuff in newspaper and then seal it on top with just 1 cm (0.4 inches) of earth-moist mortar.

In case it needs to be opened later, this can be done quickly without having to remove any expanding foam.
