Hello,

unfortunately, I only find older posts when it comes to the topic of kitchen quality. We are currently in the middle of kitchen planning and I wonder if an IKEA kitchen is still always of lower quality than Nobilia or Nolte. We are considering buying only the carcasses and kitchen fronts from IKEA, with appliances and countertops purchased separately. Can anyone share their experience with this? In our case, this would save about 5-8k euros, which I consider significant, but since the kitchen is expected to last 20-30 years, quality is a major concern.

In older posts, IKEA kitchens did not fare well in terms of quality, so I wanted to find out what the situation is today.

Maybe someone here can share their experience with IKEA kitchens.

Thank you very much

The cabinets were just an example to show that it’s not necessarily always cheaper than with a Nolte or Nobilia kitchen, etc.

I did exaggerate a bit regarding the plinth, that’s true.

So, we visited three kitchen suppliers and had the same kitchen designed three times. The prices ranged from 25,000 to 32,000. Now, IKEA without installation, including our appliances and our quartz countertop with a very similar look, was 14,500. The others weren't even close. Sorry, but I don’t know anyone who ends up with a Nolte or Nobilia kitchen cheaper than IKEA.

You are unfortunately comparing apples and oranges. Kitchen X all-inclusive (which manufacturers exactly?) versus Ikea without X, without Y, and Z, just visually similar.

Melamine resin with wood look also has almost the same appearance as real wood.

So, a 32,000 kitchen should be significantly above Ikea in all aspects, making any comparison flawed.

So a 32k kitchen should be clearly above Ikea in all aspects, so any comparison falls short.
An Ikea kitchen can also cost around €30k. Most of the cost is for the appliances – I find a five-figure amount for quality appliances quite normal, plus another €5–7k for a "good" countertop.

Well, it definitely has its target market. I’ve never seen an Ikea kitchen with a Dekton countertop and the most expensive Miele appliances. Usually, if that’s the case, there’s also a higher standard for the wood and the cabinet fronts.

I've really thought about this for a while... but €10,000 for kitchen appliances?
Cooktop 1,500€
Oven 500€
Combination steamer 700€
Warming drawer 500€
Range hood 1,000€
Dishwasher 700€

Not even €5,000?

You can really overdo it...

PS:
Okay, refrigerator another 1,000€. Many won't need a combination steamer and warming drawer anyway...
