Hello,

we are currently building a semi-detached house.

We have now reached the stage of choosing the interior doors.

The standard includes white lacquered doors with a hollow core from the company Prüm.

I am not very familiar with doors.
Therefore, I wanted to ask if these interior doors are sufficient in terms of durability and sound insulation?

Is this the usual standard, or should the interior doors have any specific features?

Setting design aside for now.

Prüm is a reliable brand. In 99% of cases, the doors will also be sufficient.

What is more important is whether you have a controlled residential ventilation system.

Is this the normal standard
I think so. Basically average.
There’s always something better.
Regarding durability and sound insulation: if your child bumps into it daily with a ride-on toy car or if a teenager turns up the bass behind it, then these won’t be sufficient. Solid wood doesn’t fully solve the first issue either.

Next time, I would choose something better for the utility room! The equipment, especially the mechanical ventilation with heat recovery, can be quite intrusive.

I meant durability, of course, under normal use.

We do not have controlled ventilation or heating; we will have district heating.

Completely sufficient.

Regarding children and ride-on toys, rounded edges on door frames and doors are, for example, an advantage.

Prüm is definitely in the higher quality and price range. I have Hörmann myself. At first, I also had concerns regarding hollow-core particleboard and sound insulation. Because our door measures 211 x 86 cm (83 x 34 inches), the door leaf feels like solid wood in terms of how it opens and closes. For soundproofing, the width of the air gap under the door plays a more important role.
