Hello dear forum,
It is now time to decide on a color for the rafter tails. The roof will be covered with Tegalit slate gray, and the windows will be finished in RAL 7016.
Tegalit slate gray is similar to 7016 when placed side by side. What color did you choose for the rafter tails? I think a lighter gray would look nice, to create a clear contrast with RAL 7016—but I do need to give the carpenter a specific color shade.
I found an example online—can anyone tell me which gray is used for the rafters here?

Phew... that could be RAL 7040 (we also use it as a contrast to slate gray roof tiles). But it's hard to determine colors from a screen.
I bought a small RAL color fan back then, and it was worth it.Do you have a live picture? Just a close-up is fine 😉

Are there any tips on how to project a small paint sample onto a large area or make this process easier? Always carry your paint fan deck with you and ask if you can hold it up when you see a color you like 😉

In some areas of the house, people tend to overthink things too much. Choose a classic white instead... that way, you can easily touch up spots later. With these complicated shades, you'll never be able to match the color again. Then you always have to repaint the entire area.
