Dear Home Building Forum,
my partner and I strongly disagree about the layout of our walk-in closet. The original floor plan does not include a door to the bathroom. My partner really wants to add an entrance to the bathroom, but I am concerned that this will make it difficult to fit enough wardrobes. What are your opinions? Should we install the door or leave it out?
Best regards, Carolin

It feels like a storage room, which is really a shame given the size of the area.
I would leave out the door to the hallway. That way, you would have a long wall for wardrobes. Where does the hallway get its light from? You cannot remove the door to the hallway because otherwise you would have to enter the bedroom through the bathroom. There is an open area by the staircase in the hallway, which you can see on the floor plan. This area is not shown correctly in the layout app.

I find the floor plan generally fine except for the second bathroom door.
I would also use the hallway for additional storage space and place a large wardrobe there. A sideboard under the window would work well. I also think rotating the bed would be better. The depth behind the door is quite useful. Are you familiar with that? Although there are wardrobes with a depth of 50cm (20 inches), 60cm (24 inches) is definitely better.

Unfortunately, the interior design app did not display the staircase correctly. It’s not about the interior design app, but the orange highlighted area.

3.1m (10 ft) bedroom width conflicts with a double bed. That leaves only 50cm (20 inches) on each side next to the bed. I agree.
And Katja has already "furnished" it, so then you just need to remove the wall to the hallway and add a door to the bedroom.
