HoisleBauer2214 Feb 2022 21:23I am looking for property/house design software that meets the following criteria:
- DXF import/export
- Garden with shrubs, trees, etc., at least available as a plugin
- Includes garages, carports, and patio covers
- Photovoltaics included
- Intuitive operation
- Many templates, e.g., for bathtubs, doors, front doors, stairs, possibly also furniture... (+ option to download more)
- RAL colors, for example, for windows/doors
Does anyone have a recommendation? What do you use? I haven’t found any recommendations in the forum so far...
Also: Has anyone received a DXF file from their builder of an empty model or standard house to plan with? I think this should be the standard...

Aren’t the other threads on this topic enough for you?
Personally, I think free weekly ice cream sundaes with whipped cream for everyone via voucher “should be standard,” but unfortunately, I have public health insurance...
You’re quite a character, but at least you’re filling the gap left by @blaupuma, who hasn’t been seen here for a while 🙂

Now seriously, @11fant, you have so much experience in the industry.
Why don’t providers offer something like this? They already have the plans, right? If necessary, they could hire an intern to digitize them or even a few freelancers from Asia for a low cost...
In general, I think digitalization in the construction sector is still far behind...
My idea would be to do selections, for example, directly online in 3D with high-resolution models, of course in the cloud. Every plumbing company would already have CAD models of their products stored somewhere. To protect products, these could automatically be simplified or blurred before sharing. Although usually, you only need the external shell.
Selection would then simply mean: here is your login, you can fly through the showrooms. The desired items you double-click, and they go into your shopping cart. Choose RAL colors by right-clicking. Activate item-move mode via the navigation menu, and so on.
It shouldn’t be that expensive either. Companies could also incorporate well-designed customer plans (idea: the customer has a 3D model of a standard house and modifies it) regarding floor plans directly into their own portfolio. It would also be great to compare different floor plans or variants for the same floor or room by swiping. Variants from other customers could be included as well.
Where necessary, 3D models are provided during the selection process.
You should generally have sufficient spatial imagination and be able to manage without 3D.
It is not advisable for non-professionals to simply move walls. Structural engineering, drainage, and other factors must be considered.
Suddenly there are narrow ladders, and the toilet drains in the middle of the living room. A costly support beam is required to ensure structural integrity, and so on.
