Hello,

we have now completed the planning of our kitchen.

Now we are working on the installation plan for our builder.

1. Question: How many water connections are usually installed in a kitchen? One for the sink and one for the dishwasher, or do they typically share one?

2. Question: What do you think about a side-by-side refrigerator with a fixed water connection?

We believe a fixed water connection is the better and more convenient solution for a refrigerator with an ice maker.

Can the refrigerator be connected to the same water line, or does it definitely need its own separate fixed water connection?

The dishwasher is about 80cm (31 inches) away from the refrigerator, and the sink is about 150cm (59 inches) away. So, for the refrigerator, we would need a hose of about 150cm (59 inches). Is that still short enough?

Is there also an AquaStop option available for the refrigerator hose?

In summer, I add fresh water every few days while I wait for the coffee.

Mmmmmhhh delicious ;-) The ice cubes still taste good in there, right?

But the people in TV commercials just look like their happiness comes especially from such gadgets 🙂

We also use a lot of ice cubes in summer. For example, to keep the 5-liter (1.3 gallons) water dispenser cool daily, and for other things as well.
But two ice cube trays in the freezer are enough for that.

I don’t know how much maintenance a refrigerator with an ice maker requires, but I would save myself the effort and the money.
This is roughly like having a hot water recirculation line in the bathroom. Turn on the tap, and warm water comes out immediately.
You don’t actually need it, it’s just a comfort feature.
With the refrigerator, you get more freezer space and it basically costs nothing to connect it to the water supply.

You don’t really need a car with 200+ horsepower either, but some people buy one anyway.
I use the refrigerator’s fresh water dispenser at least 15 times a day. More often than most other things in the house.

I find Wi-Fi for microwaves and ovens kind of pointless. You can use it, but I never do.

I will never understand why people have a sink with a water connection in the bathroom just to wash their hands once or twice a day. A bucket of water would be more than enough. 😀

Just kidding! You can take the debate about whether you need something like that and apply it to every square meter, number of windows, power outlets, light switches, electric blinds, kids’ bathrooms, walk-in closets, and so on in your houses…

If it could also carbonate water, it would be perfect!

No way, those devices won’t connect to my network. I don’t need ransomware emails demanding Bitcoin payments or my food staying cold ;-)

Well, the good devices basically don’t come without it anymore. But you don’t have to connect them to your WiFi.
Still, I’d rather spend less and skip the WiFi connectivity.
