Hello,

is there anyone here who is quite familiar with calculating a strip foundation?
The foundation is for a bungalow.

Is the formwork and all that included in your price for the foundation concrete?

Well, "formwork" here is more about appearance than anything 🙂
For strip foundations, it will be built in a few hours, or let’s say a day.

No, in my quoted price of 109 EUR, this is of course not included. That was purely the concrete cost, which has also increased recently. However, your price is double that.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m not trying to criticize your offer. Maybe the contractor is great and the prices are ultimately justified. I just want to make you aware that it is very likely possible to do it cheaper if you look for it. You just have to compare regionally.

You don’t need formwork for strip foundations, do you? In my case, they simply dug holes into the subgrade.

Exactly, hence the phrase "more show than substance." Depending on the local execution and factors like drainage pipes, formwork might be set up here and there, but overall it’s just a few boards... or a few more boards.

Formwork missing
5cm (2 inches) clean layer missing
Grounding?
Concrete slab?
Vapor barrier?

Whoever forgets something is the cheapest at first and ends up the most expensive in the end.

We paid €185 per cubic meter for concrete delivery (end of 2021). You have to consider that concrete and steel prices have increased significantly. These are currently the biggest cost drivers in the shell construction phase (not wood).

I find 70 cubic meters quite a lot, roughly 100 linear meters x 0.6 meters (2 feet) wide x ? depth.

Alternatively, you could call a concrete plant to ask their current price per cubic meter. That gives you a rough idea of the material cost without labor and equipment (concrete pump, if applicable).

I was lucky to do everything up to the base slab as a self-build project; otherwise, I would have spent many times more.

A tip: get a quote from a landscaping contractor (they are usually cheaper and do the same job) 🙂

Precise questions (and references to context) have already been described by the OP as @MR___MR "not exaggerated" *LOL*
