ᐅ Is it worth preparing for air conditioning installation?

Hello,

We are considering planning for air conditioning preparation in our new build.

In which rooms does it make sense to install air conditioning?

We have a KfW 55 semi-detached house.

What needs to be done for air conditioning preparation?

So I’m wondering to what extent you are even allowed to install an air conditioning system here without jeopardizing your KfW 55 subsidy?!

Exactly, that is what needs to be taken into account. It might be possible, but only the wind knows the answer... um, I mean the energy consultant.......

Does anyone know how long the KfW is allowed to check/sanction the subsidized energy certificate?

If I were to build again, I would install the necessary connections (don’t forget condensate drainage!) in every room that is used regularly and for longer periods. Children’s rooms could possibly be excluded.

We have air conditioning installed in the bedroom and my office. By now, I regret not having one in the living area as well.

Thanks to the photovoltaic system, operating costs are kept very low.

Considering that heatwaves are becoming hotter and lasting longer, I wouldn’t base it too much on the orientation of the building. If you have Mediterranean-like temperatures every day, even the north-facing rooms will eventually get warm.

It’s simply a matter of comfort.

I don’t know for sure, but I’m confident the period is long enough that such concerns should quickly fade if you want to sleep peacefully.

easy to retrofit in the open space, there’s always a way 😉

Yes, sure. There would even be a drain pipe in the wall behind it where I could access the condensate. The outdoor unit would be right next to the exterior wall on the carport roof, also very close by.
I've already thought it through; it's not like that! 😉

But it would only be possible with bigger and, above all, messy work.
My wife would probably think I'm crazy at first, and I’m not feeling the pressure to deal with it just yet... 🙂
