Hello,

We are considering planning for air conditioning preparation in our new build.

In which rooms does it make sense to install air conditioning?

We have a KfW 55 semi-detached house.

What needs to be done for air conditioning preparation?

... that depends on the area where you live and the topography ...

In NRW

We have windows facing roughly north, east, and west. To the south is the neighboring semi-detached house.

Is an air conditioning system necessary, or is effective shading sufficient?

Since you don’t have any south-facing windows, effective shading should be sufficient. Except, of course, if you have a room directly under the roof or in the attic.

Sorry, we have an open-plan ground floor with living room, dining area, and open kitchen.

On the first floor, there are a bedroom, a walk-in closet, and a children's room.

And approximately 35 sqm (375 sq ft) studio in the attic directly under the roof, so no loft.

So I’m wondering to what extent you are even allowed to install an air conditioning system here without affecting your KfW 55 subsidy?!
