I would like to ask for your opinion regarding aesthetics and practical usability:

I want to install as few tiles as possible on the walls. Attached are the floor plans of our bathrooms on the ground floor and upper floor (marked in red). In your opinion, where should tiles definitely be installed, and what alternatives would you suggest?

I wish you and your families a Happy New Year, with many joyful moments here ;-) and beyond the forum. Let’s continue to come together in such a positive and helpful way.

--> And if anyone has contact with Hampshire, please use all available means to encourage him to return. He is greatly missed here.

The upper bathroom is still going to have the elliptical trainer

What do you do with an elliptical trainer in the bathroom?

And just like that, the relaxing oasis is gone...

Hmm, Pinki should reconsider her husband's say in the interior design; generally, men aren’t very good at it (except for me, of course). You wouldn’t want to end up with a pinball machine, a foosball table, and a pole dance pole in the living room...

And whoever manages to get a beer tap station (how cool, I want one too) into the kitchen should probably stay quiet on topics like the garage, corner bathtub, or cross trainer. :p

I find plain white wall tiles really boring (like a hospital bathroom), especially if your sanitary fixtures are also white, tone-on-tone, combined with white walls?

No idea, I don’t use those; it was my husband’s idea again. ;-)

So far, it looks like I get to design the living room. Apart from the poker table, which is definitely coming in and I like it too. I don’t think my husband or anyone else wants to see ME on a pole dancing pole. ;-) (Although, frequent laughter is important, too.)

That would be nice. :-) About the beer tap station, there’s a funny story: We’ve been married just recently; my husband asked me if I minded him drilling one or two holes in the kitchen fridge. I, still the newlywed wife but not so young anymore, who adores him, ;-) said, “No, not at all, my love, go ahead.” Pause. “Hmm, but you love eating vegetables, what happens to the vegetables if there are holes in the fridge? Shouldn’t we buy a second fridge instead?” :-)

For the basins, I’ve considered using green glass basins (see example photos). My husband will probably build the vanity units himself out of wood. He did that in our last house as well. Since I want to use as few tiles as possible, I’m thinking of decorating the bathroom with colorful wallpaper or tinted plaster instead.

Your husband specifically wants a wife with "wink fat"???

OK, the green sinks will at least match the green tiles. Are there also toilets available in green glass? If you then add a lot of color to the walls, it might work. A green bathtub would be the perfect finishing touch!

No. ;-) The cross trainer will be placed in the upstairs bathroom at my husband’s request. I myself do not use the cross trainer, or only very rarely, by my own choice. 🙂
