I have a precast concrete beam ceiling (see attachment)… I want to install a recessed light fixture measuring 18 x 18 cm (7 x 7 inches) and 10 cm (4 inches) deep in the bathroom. Is it safe to cut a 18 x 18 cm (7 x 7 inches) opening in the ceiling? Will this cause any structural issues? I want to avoid installing a suspended ceiling. Thanks

You probably have a structural issue with the ceiling; you would be compromising the load-bearing structure.
Wouldn’t a round or square LED panel work as well?

If cuts are made between the beams, I would consider it (but I wouldn't be sure either... it really depends on what is happening above). Cutting into a beam—or even completely through one—should definitely be avoided.

Update: Of course, I will definitely not touch the beam; I’m concerned about the middle cavity within the brick. Above that is the attic (floor insulated), which probably won’t be converted.

I’m asking about the central cavity in the brick.
Which brick? Your picture shows pumice blocks.

Is suspending the ceiling really not an option?
