Yesterday, I really felt a strong longing to travel. A small house on a skerry, a hot tub, and peace and quiet. Nothing, no one, just tranquility.

That’s how I see smart homes as well, and additionally: in 30 years, everyone will just have one and no one will be able to imagine how life was without it. Twenty years ago, people laughed at online shopping saying "I don’t need that," and someone with a mobile phone was considered a "show-off" just 25 years ago...

I always find the use of "realistic" puzzling. Is a DB manager or their lifestyle really "unrealistic"?

Yes, I completely agree that sooner or later all our houses will become more or less connected and "smart." We are already on this path, and the pace is accelerating. Naturally, everyone has a different understanding of what "smart" means.
