ᐅ Tiles in Living Areas – Baseboards Made of Tiles or Wood?

We also chose white wooden trims for our floor tiles.

For example, we excluded our "tiling package" from the house construction and had it done by a local tiler. This allowed us to choose the tiles and baseboards ourselves and pay half the price compared to the home builder.

Yes, it’s always difficult to visualize how it will look in the whole room based on just a few sample tiles. At least we find it hard to do. 🤨

Then just have the tiles installed first and decide afterwards.

For me, it’s clear that the skirting board should be made of the same material as the floor. That’s how we did it as well.

Then I'll just throw in a powder-coated aluminum strip...

We liked baseboards made from the floor tiles the most, as they match the grout pattern perfectly.

Upstairs, we have white baseboards, which are considerably more sensitive than the tile baseboards on the ground floor...
