Hello,

we have now decided on a vinyl floor for our new build. The question is what kind of fire protection to install in front of the fireplace. The fireplace installer suggested that it is best to tile in front of the fireplace, preferably in the same color as the vinyl. How have you solved this?

I agree with that.

Important: If placing tiles next to vinyl, DO NOT use the same color, but create a contrast. Otherwise, it looks very bad.
That idea should be banned 😉

You can also worry too much.
My chimney sweep said that I don’t actually need any protection for the laminate flooring.
The fireplace is closed during operation, and when it’s opened to add more fuel, I’m standing right in front of it and can respond immediately. In eight years, I haven’t once felt the need to protect the floor.

My chimney sweep expressed it similarly – but insisted that the fire safety standards be fully complied with.

Oh no, what have I done?
I actually meant it the other way around! Sorry

Yes, I can believe that. When I checked what I got liked for, my heart almost sank—it was such an embarrassing mistake 😀
