Hello,

We are currently planning our kitchen.

Since it’s a big and unclear jungle and it’s hard to compare everything, I wanted to ask for your help.

We believe that when you go to a showroom and don’t exactly know what you want or need, you might end up paying too much.

I wanted to ask which kitchen brands are good in terms of quality and durability, without being excessively overpriced.

We basically want a mid-range kitchen for our house.

Kitchen cabinets: Nobilia or Nolte kitchens (please suggest other good brands that meet our criteria).

Kitchen appliances: Neff, Bosch, Siemens, or which appliance brands would you recommend? The appliances should have good functions and offer comfort.

Sink: no idea.

I hope you can recommend good brands for cabinets, appliances, and sinks based on your own positive experiences.

Maybe there are also kitchen builders among you who can provide advice as well.

The L-shaped area is about 4 x 2.75 m (13 x 9 feet) – it still needed some decoration, shelves, and lamps.
And there’s also a window missing there. 😉

Hello,
it really depends on the kitchen brand, the running meters, and the appliances you want to afford.
Current example: We were supposed to get the Siemens Studio-Line cooktop for €2200 (about $2400), which is currently unavailable because Siemens is producing only 9 cooktops every 3 weeks, and the backlog is in the triple digits!
So we were forced to buy whatever the market offered—in our case, a Berbel BKF 83 DLP U for €3500 (about $3800).
Normally, I wouldn’t have done that, but in times of need, you have to accept what’s possible.

We are paying just under 8 meters (around 26 feet) of Nobilia kitchen with otherwise Siemens Studio-Line appliances, a Berbel cooktop, and a granite countertop close to €20,000 (about $21,500).
To be fair: The kitchen contract was signed 2 years ago.

Important for you: There will always be someone who wants a kitchen for €20k/30k/50k etc., but don’t be blinded by that. Set a limit plus 10%, and you should be fine. The brands you mentioned are top quality, so I don’t expect any total failures from them.

@driver55 : I have thought about that too. However, the window above the countertop or sink would then directly face the bathroom 😎

Which brand do you think has better features, Bosch or Neff?

Oven
Microwave
Induction cooktop 80cm (31.5 inches) or 90cm (35.4 inches)
Extractor hood / range hood
Dishwasher

Bosch or Neff?
Both are equally good since they come from the same parent company. Personally, I find Neff’s Twist Pad for the induction cooktop better than any other solution on the market. They offer nice fully black cooktops where only the On/Off button is visible.

Other than that, NEFF feels slightly more expensive.

P.S. Don’t forget Siemens. All three are part of the same group.

Yes, I meant in terms of features.

I believe Siemens appliances don’t have any functional advantages, right?
Siemens is, I think, even more expensive than Neff.

Which brand offers better features in their appliances: Bosch, Neff, or Siemens?

What do you think about the smart home functions of kitchen appliances?
