After recently selecting fixtures at the plumbing wholesale store and already being faced with somewhat high prices, we received the corresponding offer from the plumber yesterday. As mentioned, we were prepared and were not really shocked by the price indicated at the bottom right.
Still, I wonder if some items are really worth it.
For example, a built-in faucet with a spout for the bathtub costs €600 more than an exposed faucet.
Okay, that’s something you may or may not want.
What actually unsettles me more is the topic of bathroom furniture.
Are these pieces from the specialized plumbing store really that much better than furniture from general furniture stores or home improvement centers?
There, the vanity cabinet plus the washbasin cost €1200 (about $1300) and that’s not even in the higher price segment.
On top of that, you have the mirror cabinet and possibly a tall cabinet.
Unfortunately, the washbasins and vanity cabinets are usually specially matched.
Does anyone have tips on how to create a stylish bathroom without spending a fortune?

Who or what is the moose being referred to here? The large furniture store from Sweden with the yellow and blue company colors.
I'll quickly join in:
A few questions:
1. Upstairs, we are getting a 130cm (51 inches) Villeroy & Boch Subway sink. The Villeroy & Boch base cabinet is supposed to cost around 825 EUR at Reuter.
Would the Godmorgon base cabinet from IKEA also fit? I really can’t see any reason why not. It costs less than half and would definitely meet our needs!
2. Downstairs, we are getting a Villeroy & Boch Loop&Friends countertop basin. A 85cm (33 inches) countertop from the Villeroy & Boch Shape series should cost around 450 EUR (also at Reuter).
Does anyone have suggestions for a more affordable alternative?

Would the Godmorgon vanity cabinet from Elch also fit? I really can’t see a reason why not. It costs less than half and would definitely meet our needs!I don’t think so. The Godmorgon cabinet is open at the top and probably as customized in size as Ikea itself.

Does anyone have a suggestion for a cheaper alternative? That’s exactly why we are using the light oak kitchen countertop from Elch so we can mount the Godmorgon cabinet (also light oak) underneath.
This option should also work for the Subwax washbasin.
