Hello everyone,

We would like to install a different type of tile on the wall where our washbasin is mounted in our bathroom. Preferably, this should be a full-height installation. (We want to keep tiling on the other walls to a minimum.)

So please share your textured, patterned, or 3D tiles! 🙂

Another thing to consider is the installation of the bathroom mirror.
Our 2x1m (6.5x3.3 ft) mirror was mounted using adhesive pads (similar to double-sided tape). Usually, no drilling or screwing is required.
This method only works well on a smooth, texture-free surface.

My husband has been saying the same thing about the lime in the grooves or textures, but to be honest, I wouldn’t have expected it.
However, I wouldn’t have any concerns about the model shown in post #5.

Neither would I, in theory. But they are said to be very prone to dust, and I’m very particular. I know I would get really annoyed because I’d be constantly checking on them.

We decided against the textured tiles and will install the chosen tile in a 60 x 60 cm (24 x 24 inch) size for both floor and wall surfaces, with the wall tiles going up to 120 cm (47 inches) high and the shower tiled up to ceiling height. Walls will only be tiled where sanitary fixtures are located. All other areas will remain tile-free.

Regarding lime, I'm not either. But those are supposed to be very prone to dust, and I’m very picky.
I meant the white contoured ones, not the rough gray ones for the floor.

60 x 60 with 120 cm (47 inches) height means two tiles stacked vertically. Ouch, that will look quite unusual. Compared to a slight lime edge, that would be more like a bar than a small detail catching the eye. It works better on the wall with 60 x 30 and also offsets the grout lines at the floor/wall transition by half a tile* or you change the shade. Also, consider a smooth transition between tile color and plaster color. *) or the laying direction: diagonal on the floor

60x60 120 high means two pieces stacked. Ouch, that will look very unusual. Compared to a lime edge, that would seem more like a beam than a spike catching the eye. It works better on the wall with 60x30 tiles and also offsets the joints at the floor/wall transition by half a module* or changes the color tone. And also consider a smooth transition between tile color and plaster color. *) or the laying direction: diagonal on the floor

Yes, that’s exactly what I meant too. A lady (customer) told me the same thing at the hardware store on Saturday when I was looking at tiles.

It should look like in post 9. I have seen that on many online profiles and so far I liked it. The lady during the tile sampling showed us a simulation, but somehow it didn’t look nice with the 60 x 30 tiles.

I still have some time... Maybe I’m too close to this and can’t see the bigger picture anymore.

That definitely caught my attention 🙂

Yes, that works too: it's closer to 110cm (43 inches) rather than 120cm (47 inches) high, so it's not quite twice the full height of the element...
