Hello dear experts/builders,
I have a big problem with where to place the gutter on the south side of our new build.
On the left side of the house, there is a corner window on the ground floor, so from my point of view, proper rainwater drainage is not possible.
What does it look like if a pipe goes past the corner window?
On the right side, there is a ground floor extension with a flat roof—see the attached photo.
According to the construction company, drainage is not possible here!
But surely there must be a way, right?
Could someone please help me with this?
An internal drainage system is also difficult. We are building with a timber frame construction method.
Thank you very much,
Veronika1979

For me, only the right corner of the house remains…
The question is just how? With the extension…

We paid a lot of money for the plans But the positioning of the soil pipe can be handled by the forum. 😎
No one can make sense of this information/snippets; at least I cannot.
You have to look at it as a whole…

Veronika197912 Nov 2021 14:03Hm, well, I actually don’t want to know where the pipe should be placed on the south side…
So no complete view either!
It is clear to me that the downpipe has to be at the right corner…
The question is how this downpipe needs to be shaped so that the drainage over the extension works properly…

Sorry, but you are asking for help and no one knows where north or south is. Furthermore, the drainage also depends on the roof shape and area, and whether maybe just one pipe is sufficient.
If you prefer not to show us, I understand that, but it will be difficult to provide effective assistance without detailed information.

And I’m having a bit of trouble sharing complete house elevations and floor plans publicly…. We paid a lot of money for the plansSo why can’t you show the “expensive” plans without any names or personal details? A downpipe is necessary and in my opinion it doesn’t spoil the look of the house. They come in various colors and shapes or can be cleverly concealed. Without giving something, it will probably be hard for you to get much in return here; as you can see, more information and pictures are needed to help you.
Originally, we planned to have an internal gutter, but I eventually decided against it, even though the “designer” wanted it for aesthetic reasons.
You’ve already chosen the right corner as the location, you say, so isn’t it already decided?
