For the new build, I would like to initially rely on the cable connection for the TV signal. However, I want to have the option to switch to a satellite dish later on. The conduit from the roof to the utility room is clear.
Now my question is, how should I proceed from there? Can I connect the satellite cable to the existing coaxial cable, or do I need to run the satellite cable from the utility room?
Best regards

If your cable TV connection currently arrives in the utility room, you can distribute it from there.
If you plan to install a satellite dish later, you will need to run four cables from the dish to the utility room (empty conduit) for future use.
Depending on the number of users, a multiswitch can be installed in between, and that should be sufficient.
It is also important to provide or install a network cable to each room from the utility room (internet/fiber optic connection).

Do I need coaxial and satellite cables at every outlet?
Or can I use the existing coaxial cable?
At each TV/radio outlet in the rooms, so-called subscriber connection outlets are installed. These separate the respective signals again.
The star distribution can also be used for cable TV. In that case, only a different splitter is installed.
For example, I have also fed an FM (signal) and a DVB-T2 signal into the respective feed lines. This allows me to receive DAB+ with the corresponding quality.
I live about 70 km (45 miles) away from Berlin.
