Hello everyone,

We would like to install a different type of tile on the wall where our washbasin is mounted in our bathroom. Preferably, this should be a full-height installation. (We want to keep tiling on the other walls to a minimum.)

So please share your textured, patterned, or 3D tiles! 🙂

What you can especially see in the image from post 9 is that it’s worth taking the time to create a tile layout plan for the 60cm x 60cm (24in x 24in) tiles. I think the one shown there is very well done.

Do you use the same tile for the floor and walls?

Yes, we do that in our apartment as well, and we like it. However, we chose lighter tiles.

At first, I wanted to create accents with vintage tiles, but I was concerned I might get tired of them quickly. Textured tiles are also out for me for the same reason, plus the extra maintenance.
A friend of mine has beige tiles with grooves that look a bit like wood. It looks great, but since she also has them in the shower, lime scale and dust tend to stick to them. I don’t have time for much as it is, so I definitely don’t want to spend extra time cleaning tiles. ;-)

Thanks for the info! That was basically the deal-breaker for the tile..

My husband already suspected something like that, and of course, I really don’t want to deal with it either!

You have a textured tile in the bathroom, are they all that prone to showing dust?

Well, they are beige... so it’s not that noticeable. But you definitely can’t look too closely 😉

Take a look at Apavisa. We have them in large formats (120cm x 240cm (47 inches x 94 inches) and 160cm x 320cm (63 inches x 126 inches)).

Dear engineers,
what do we all need self-driving cars for,
the country needs self-cleaning homes 😉

Hello everyone,

we want to install a different tile on one bathroom wall, the one where our washbasin is mounted, compared to our regular tiles. Preferably covering the entire height up to the ceiling. (All other walls should have as few tiles as possible)

Alternatively, would a "glass panel" with a printed design be possible? That idea has been on my mind lately instead of tiles. I’m not very fond of tiles on walls and, like you, try to keep them to a minimum. Printed glass panels offer almost any design you want and you can even use your own images; the maintenance is similar to that of a mirror. They don’t seem to be very expensive and after a few years, they are probably easy to replace.

So, I didn’t exactly answer your question, but maybe this helps.
