ᐅ Experience with roller shutter control using Shelly 2.5?

Hello,
First of all, we consciously decided against a full smart home system but would like to be able to control some of our electric roller shutters via smartphone or voice commands. (It was a cost issue, and our general contractor didn’t really have the expertise for it.) I came across the Shelly 2.5 devices.
Are they recommended? Are there better alternatives in the same price range?
Is there anything to consider with traditionally wired roller shutters that have switches at the room entrance? Since our shell construction is still in progress, we could still take some things into account if necessary.
Thanks for any information.

We used Shelly 2.5 devices in a new build. All were installed in deep electrical boxes or even larger junction boxes. It works quite well. The question always is what exactly you want to achieve with them.

Since the feedback here about the Shelly devices has been mostly positive, I’m confident about installing them in our home.

Now I’m thinking about how to make it easier for household members who aren’t so tech-savvy to control the roller shutters with them. This brought up the question: is it possible to close/open all the Shelly devices on the ground floor at the same time? I’ve seen that this can be done using the Shelly Button... but is it also possible by long-pressing a selected switch with a Shelly?

To put it in one sentence, I’m looking for a way to send a command to all the Shellys on the ground floor (7 units) simultaneously. Preferably without battery-powered accessories.

Thanks in advance to the Shelly experts here 😉

It is also possible to raise or lower all desired roller shutters via groups in the app without using a switch.

For a long press on the switch, the Shelly I3 must be installed at the switch. It can be configured to control other Shelly devices on a long press.

So, you would have a Shelly 2.5 behind a push button, which is connected to a Shelly I3?
I read something about 3 inputs... can I then send commands to 7 Shellys with it?

It doesn’t actually matter where the Shelly 2.5 is installed in the house. Only the Shelly I3 needs to be triggered by the push button, which then communicates wirelessly with all the other Shellys. The I3 does have 3 wires, that’s correct. I think it can control more than 7 Shellys simultaneously with a specific button press. If the 3 inputs of the I3 are connected together, it should be possible to control 3 x 5 Shellys. Additionally, using scenes, even more options are likely available.

There are some good explanatory videos on YouTube about this.

The question is only why? Thanks to Shelly, no one here bothers with the roller shutters anymore. The shutters close automatically with the setting sun and open again when it rises. Shelly is smart home technology and ideally should be used intelligently.
