We have a small dilemma with our upcoming build regarding the color of the windows and roller shutters. We would like to have windows in Winchester color (both sides coated). Unfortunately, the window manufacturer does not offer matching roller shutter slats in that color. Therefore, we are considering choosing the roller shutters in anthracite (the same as the roof). However, we haven’t been able to find any pictures of this combination. Then there is the question of what color the guide rails and the trim should be, as these are available in Winchester.
To summarize, we are currently torn between:
- Winchester windows with roller shutter slats in anthracite. What color should the guide rails and trim be?
- Or quite plain windows in anthracite (coated on one side; white on the other) with roller shutters also in anthracite.
Does anyone perhaps have the same color combination and can offer some advice?

Indeed. Huge difference compared to Anthracite 😎 The biggest difference is probably just the name.Have you seen both in person? Probably not, because as @nordanney already mentioned, there is actually a noticeable difference. We originally wanted to use RAL 7012, but the roller shutters in that color would have been disproportionately expensive for our taste, so we decided against it.P
Powermichi10 Sep 2021 23:31What about silver-colored (aluminum) roller shutters? Guide rails in the window color, because when the roller shutter is rolled up, otherwise three colors would be visible, and since roller shutters are mostly around in the dark, a third color is not necessarily a problem.
Hello Everyone,
we are currently facing the decision of choosing the window frame color.
Our builder offers standard Veka windows.
Our brickwork is very light. Therefore, we tend to go for darker frames. And yes, there are significant differences in anthracite shades. RAL 7016 has a bluish tint, which we do not like. A darker alternative is RAL 7021. Unfortunately, this color is not offered by Veka. The next shade is Jet Black, essentially black.
Has anyone chosen the Jet Black color? If so, which color of roller shutters (Roma Standard) did you combine it with?
For example, Schüco offers color 7021. Are the windows generally more expensive compared to Veka?

I think the price difference between Schüco and Veka would depend on the dealer and which way it goes. And Kömmerling is also an option as a third competitor in this range. By now, it should be well known that I recommend Gealan for “colored” PVC windows because of the co-extrusion process instead of foil lamination.
