Hello,
we have purchased a plot of land near Stuttgart and submitted a building permit application. Unfortunately, the cost estimates keep increasing.
The project is a single-family house with a living area of 250 m² (2690 sq ft), including a double garage and basement, KfW40+ standard.
Can anyone recommend a construction company in the greater Stuttgart area?
Thanks in advance!

So, did you attend the selection appointment, or how do you know that only machines will be shown? Yes, they show how everything is manufactured and so on. But they also explain the wall construction, how the walls are assembled with screws, the roof—every single work step can be viewed beforehand. And yes, we also chose tiles and switches that are included in the standard package. By the way, we excluded the sanitary fixtures because we didn’t like them. I would call it a worry-free package.
We also completed this preliminary selection with Weberhaus.
But the most important thing after the visit was that I know exactly what I will get and what I will have to pay extra for. No surprises, no tradespeople canceling on me or going bankrupt, and so on. After signing the contract, we transferred exactly this amount 8 months later. It may be that contracting each trade individually is the better option for many, but for my wife and me, a turnkey solution with no stress, one point of contact, and everything from a single source was perfect.

As I said before, I would rather talk with (former) homeowners. But these selection appointments are definitely nice. I’m also looking forward to it once I’ve chosen a provider.

Are you generally a Blue Type or specifically autistic? What is the purpose of this pseudo-psychologizing comment with accusations and insults? We should stay objective and factual, without insulting or provoking each other. I actually expect this from long-term forum members here. We should also return to the topic, which is discussing construction companies and how to quickly and efficiently find the right one (time is money!).

No sales department likes brochure collectors (called “Seh-Leute” at trade shows) or, referring to the Blue Type, datasheet collectors. Is it really about being liked by sales? Companies always hate competition and transparency. But they have to be forced to provide it, if necessary by legal means (see antitrust authorities and building code (contract) regulations for construction companies). Otherwise, clients would just be taken advantage of.

I know what providers think of requesters. The construction industry has been my world since the early ’80s, and I now look back on thirty years of working, so to speak, professionally as a tender organizer. Technical salespeople are probably my most common lunch companions. Interesting. I like learning from experienced people here. What has changed with salespeople since the ’80s? More performance-based pay?

We should also get back to the topic—discussing construction companies and how to quickly and efficiently (time is money!) find the right one. From what I understand about the experienced forum members, there are question marks behind the efficiency of your method. Saying “My name is Lohse, I’m shopping here” doesn’t work even in "Pappa ante Portas," and neither does it in the home building market. As I said, I’ve been involved in the tendering business for a very long time, and it’s all about listening—exactly the approach you don’t want to allow with potential partners.

Are you generally a Blue Personality type or specifically autistic? This can definitely be considered an insult. Assigning someone a "Blue Personality type" (sounds like something learned in a "Psychology for Professionals" seminar) is pigeonholing. Also, accusing me of considering those people’s sentences as "emotional nonsense" here is clearly meant disparagingly. But I’m not holding a grudge—I just want to reflect back to you, as a supposed "autistic" person, how your words might be received by others.
