Hello,
After a few detours, we are now heading toward starting construction in August 2022... The house will have 160sqm (1,722 sqft) of living space without a basement. The ceilings will be dropped. We are aiming for KfW 40 or 40+ standard.
We will probably build with a general contractor but might subcontract some trades ourselves if something doesn’t immediately meet our expectations.
We visited a building trade fair again over the weekend... The heating installers all preferred to install their “house brand” manufacturer.
We definitely want a modulating heat pump and a central ventilation system with heat recovery and an enthalpy heat exchanger.
Which manufacturers should we consider? We prefer to invest a bit more upfront for an efficient and durable unit.
At the fair, we were very impressed with Vaillant. However, the brand name on the devices doesn’t really matter to us — reliability and efficiency are the priority.
If any further information is needed, just let us know.
Thanks in advance

Well, 35% off the controlled residential ventilation costs is not insignificant. Technically, you are probably right. It would be interesting to calculate the impact of, for example, lowering the ventilation when the pump is running at a certain cycle, or conversely increasing it. Because then the outside air in the surrounding area might actually get slightly warmer. That would be a good exercise for aspiring building services engineers.

How are the Vaillant heat pumps when it comes to price/performance? If it’s working, everything is fine. But woe betide you if you have a problem, then you’re completely on your own...
That’s unfortunately my situation right now. 🙄

That’s unfortunately how it is for me right now. 🙄I have unfortunately heard the same by now... Breakdown in December – technician comes in March... even with a maintenance contractSimilar topics
