Hello everyone,
I have read several times that symmetrical facades are not particularly popular among experts.
What is the right degree of asymmetry? The golden ratio? The Fibonacci sequence?
What makes a building interesting, and do you have any examples?
I, of course, designed my extension to be perfectly symmetrical.

@In der Ruine I’m a fan of symmetry and I also don’t like windows that aren’t quite floor-to-ceiling. However, I get the impression that your window choices aren’t ideal. All those muntins make them look a bit old-fashioned. May I show you some of my experiments… before and after… Thanks again for the selection. The government prefers three panes at the top but generally supports muntins across the whole window. However, with larger panes. But this can of course be specified in detail when ordering the windows.

I know it won’t be a Swedish-style house. But also not an extension costing more than $2000 per square meter.
1. I find wooden facades quite appealing
2. It feels like everyone else has plastered walls
3. I can do it myself.
My dream house would probably cost around $800,000, but apparently I missed out on the silver spoon at birth.
My ears already hurt when five-figure sums are treated like peanuts here.
In many threads here, you kind of feel like a low-income earner.

2. It feels like everyone has plaster (render). 2. It feels like everyone wants brick (clinker). 🙂

And I didn’t mean anything else than that reducing the number of window panes doesn’t immediately solve the issue. Then I misunderstood your eye roll.

2. It seems like everyone wants brick veneer 🙂 But only very few actually look good. Most of the time, it looks artificial, and you can spot the brick slips from 200m (650 ft) away.
