I want to install a photovoltaic system on my Landskrona Swedish-style house and now have concerns about the structural stability.

Does anyone else have the same issue because it is a prefabricated house from the 1980s? I have heard that some homeowners have had problems with the building authorities regarding the roof’s snow load structural calculations.

I would boldly suggest that since a photovoltaic system probably weighs somewhere between 20-25kg per m² (4-5 lbs per ft²), it shouldn’t be a problem. Personally, I have never heard that it wouldn’t be feasible.

But honestly, what can you say about this from a distance? Will the roof structure support me if I sit on it? Every house is different, and it’s very unlikely you’ll find someone who has exactly the same house as you.

Check the forum search. You’ll see that you’re not the only one with this model here: you’ve already included the two relevant search terms “Swedish prefabricated house” and “Landskrona.” Good luck!
