Hello,

we are considering which shower shelf would be practical for shampoo and similar items in a new build.

A shower niche is not possible (it would reduce the shower floor space and make the shower too small for us).

These shower baskets keep falling off ://

What alternatives are there for new builds that are also durable and visually appealing?

It should definitely be something sturdy and resistant, capable of holding a few kilograms.

... our shower stuff has been standing on the floor for decades, but we are rather low-tech anyway. Otherwise, there are also fixtures that can be used as shelves.

For the shower niche, the wall needs to be made thicker, which would reduce the shower size to only 75-80 x 90 cm (30-31 x 35 inches) instead of 90 x 90 cm (35 x 35 inches). We don’t want that.

I also don’t think the option with tiles in the corner is bad, but that would have to be installed immediately when the wall tiles are glued, right?

Which high-quality options can you specifically recommend that could possibly be installed by myself? It should be high quality and durable.

You’ll have to do the product research yourself 😉

Unfortunately, I can only find that cheap 0185 junk.

That’s why I would appreciate a tip.

Just take a look at well-known brands on their websites. Or check major online plumbing supply stores, for example the one starting with R near Mönchengladbach. They also have a category for shower baskets in the bathroom section.

Amazon is not helpful in this case either. Have a look at Reuter and check the well-known manufacturers there.
