Daniel-Sp2 Jul 2021 10:25We have a Novelan LICV 8, installed indoors, with a 300 liter (79 gallon) hot water storage tank. The circulation runs pulsed for about 2.5 hours per day. Two adults shower daily, and two children (6 and 8 years old) also shower daily during the summer. The hot water temperature is set to 49°C (120°F), with a hysteresis of 5K (9°F). Hot water is usually prepared once a day, rarely only every other day. Only occasionally does the younger child empty the hot water tank out of excitement. The heating system was not in use in June. Last year, during the summer months, we produced between 100 and 170 kWh of thermal energy for hot water preparation, so it was a typical month.

Oetzberger28 Aug 2021 21:50So, yesterday I turned the heating on again for the first time. I just like it comfortably warm inside the house. During the summer, the air-to-water heat pump stood out due to unexpectedly high standby consumption, with the monthly efficiency ratings falling to a poor 2.5. But I guess there's no way around that. Now the second heating season begins in the new house—I’m curious if the heat demand will actually be lower thanks to less construction moisture.
Is it already snowing at @Bookstar?

Oetzberger28 Aug 2021 22:08This is a well-known issue with Alpha Innotec, where the oil sump heating continuously runs. According to the "rosa" forum, it apparently cannot be avoided.

Our heating system has turned on again a few times over the past days; it will probably come on again tonight. How cold is it where you are? My heating system hasn't even considered turning on yet, given the outside and indoor temperatures. And I haven’t even finished my energy retrofit...Similar topics
