Hello,
we have purchased a new semi-detached house.
The house will be white with beige accents.
We were considering having the windows, window sills, and roller shutters in anthracite to create a nice contrast. The windows would then match the front door, garage door, canopy, rain gutter, and patio roof, which are also anthracite.
Are there any issues with window sills and roller shutters in anthracite?
Is it possible for the roller shutters to warp?
The roller shutters will probably be made of plastic; I am not yet familiar with the material used for the window sills.

Apart from the fact that, in my opinion, this is already an overused trend, there are many reports mentioning creaky windows, warped roller shutters, and burned children's hands on the window sills.
As always, if the quality of materials and installation (especially important!) is right, then there is probably nothing to worry about.
But think about it again. Why not choose a lighter gray and then paint the reveal very dark, or add a frame around the window reveal, like a faux casing?
I have grown tired of these anthracite windows; to me, smoky eyes look like models straight from a factory.

The front door and garage door will definitely be anthracite (the other doors didn’t look as good).
We liked the idea of having a uniform look in the end, and it’s something different from the standard white windows and gray shutters, which are very common here in NRW.
If it could cause problems, we would rather avoid anthracite.
We want the patio roof and entrance canopy to be made of aluminum and anthracite.

We were thinking of choosing anthracite for the windows, window sills, and roller shutters (to create a nice contrast in color).… and does that only work with anthracite? Consider other colors. The RAL color palette is huge.I chose basalt-colored windows and a front door in wine red. THAT creates an individual, yet tasteful style.
We thought it would look good if the following elements were all in the same color.
Windows, window sills (white, light gray, anthracite as standard), gutters (standard anthracite), roof tiles (standard anthracite), front door and garage door (there are attractive front doors in anthracite and garage doors standard anthracite), porch and terrace roof (with frosted glass, aluminum frame in anthracite).
Oh yes, the lintel protection for the floor-to-ceiling windows should also be in anthracite.
If we choose many smaller elements in anthracite, it creates a unified overall look with beautiful anthracite accents.
Photo: this is how our house will look in terms of shape and design (a photo from a previous project by the builder, same house type).
