Dear Forum,

I am looking for constructive and honest feedback.

What do you like about our floor plan, what doesn’t work at all, and why?

My “question areas”:
- Windows in the living room/on the couch side
- Experiences with bedroom/children’s room dimensions

The window arrangement in the children’s rooms will be adjusted again, using Child 2’s room as the starting point. The windows will essentially be swapped, meaning the bedroom window opposite the door and the window with a sill on the short side will be mirrored accordingly in Child 1’s room.

Thank you

Good morning,

@ypg, if we install a kitchen door, the space for the coat closet would have to be removed or the run along the back wall would have to be shorter 🙁
Or am I seeing this wrong?

@apokolok
Do you have any ideas regarding the bathroom?
Sure, you can save quite a few square meters here, but how?

Why do you find the walk-in closet impractical?

@evelinoz
I appreciate the suggestion about adding a second window in the bedroom.

It is indeed a pity if the bed can no longer be rearranged.

We should discuss more options with our architect.

A second window is important to me for cross-ventilation.

We do feel the bedroom door is quite "far away," what alternative would you suggest?

Also, the house was designed from the inside out; symmetry is NOT important to us 😉

@Bertram100 ...oh, I really have to think about that, and I can’t immediately say if I spend more time at the stove or the sink, but probably more at the stove because of the dishwasher... I think your point could become a topic of discussion :p

The tub will sit there like a foreign object between the floor-to-ceiling windows.
I definitely can’t confirm that. It’s probably more a matter of personal taste.

I didn’t say that: I would open up that side, remove the wall to create a more open space.
The wardrobe could stay, be relocated, or moved somewhere else, since the shower on the ground floor is unnecessary.
Any change always means that something else will also change.
If there are three of you, then one of the children's rooms could be designed differently?! (The questionnaire was filled out somewhat carelessly and does not match the design.)

You won’t get the house for 300,000€ (approximately); you will need to add another 60,000 to 100,000€ plus additional construction-related costs such as fees and incidental expenses.

Price estimate according to architect/planner: 300,000

Apart from the floor plan, which I like,
160 m² (1,722 sq ft) are hardly feasible with this budget. Are the 300,000 supposed to be only for the house, or do they also include additional construction costs?

It’s all designed externally for symmetry (for the neighbors).

Supposedly, it is not like that at all.

And why? Maybe I’m just too old for that, but why would I have to design a bedroom to allow multiple bed positions? That would also require the appropriate electrical installations. In our case, there is exactly one practical position for the bed. Anything else would require more space, which is already limited here.

P.S.
@kbt09 what do you think about the stairs? I consider 19/24 to be uncomfortable. I learned that 19/26 is the minimum measurement for comfort.
