Hello dear forum,
we are currently in the middle of the construction phase and need to finalize the positions of our ceiling spots at short notice.
Our preferred option is the following:
However, we wonder if the spots above the sink and toilet should be positioned further into the room, since a rather wide mirror with probably integrated upper LED lighting will be installed above the sink, and the distance to the other spots over the bathtub/shower is quite large.
Another idea would be the following, to reduce the distance between the spots above the toilet/sink and the bathtub/shower. But would the spot in the shower then be enough, or would it be too dark there?

A final idea is to move the spots above the sink/toilet further into the room:

In the last version, two additional spots are shown above the bathtub. We thought that five spots, as in the other drawings, would be sufficient!?
What do the experts say? Which arrangement makes the most sense (and why), and are five spots really enough if the mirror is slightly illuminated as well?
Best regards, Monsteraner

Recessed spotlights in the living area are not really my favorite, but I find them quite acceptable in the bathroom. If you move the recessed spotlights a bit closer to the wall, creating indirect light reflected off the wall, I actually think it looks quite nice. It also creates interesting light and shadow effects on the wall. For the ideal placement, you can find various rules of thumb on Google based on the beam angle of the light. Indirect lighting naturally reduces the amount of light, so the spotlights should be somewhat more powerful than if you were only illuminating the floor.

I find spots but from the ’90s.
Then rather stripes, although in 10-15 years probably no one will want those either. I’m almost on the same wavelength.
Building is currently really expensive, so you don’t want to “nail” spots worth 5,000€…10,000€ to the ceilings as well.
(Are those Euros even enough for a complete single-family home including light bulbs, dimmers, junction boxes, etc.?)
One shower, one bathtub, and possibly one in the center of the room. If you have LED mirrors, those above the washbasin are unnecessary.
