Hello everyone,
Has anyone had experience with installing a central air conditioning system?
I am planning to install a central air conditioning system for 5 rooms in a new build: 4 units on the upper floor (one per room – 72 m² (775 sq ft)) and one on the ground floor (living room with an open-plan kitchen – also 72 m² (775 sq ft)). The construction company estimated the costs at 30,000 to 35,000 EUR.
My question is whether this amount is reasonable. The construction company I am working with is not the cheapest, but 35,000 EUR still sounds quite expensive.

Can you sauna for free in the summer?

That probably depends on when you start planning.Sure, of course it gets cheaper the earlier you start, especially if you have a partner who knows what they’re doing. It’s like in any construction project (and other fields too).S

New construction and no adequate heat/sun protection? 🙄
Can you use the sauna for free in summer? The cabin is not built yet, but construction will start shortly. The air conditioning system is being installed by the same construction company that is building the house – meaning the site manager is overseeing the whole process.

Can you sauna for free in the summer? What exactly do you mean by "adequate heat/sun protection"?The windows have external blinds, but the south-facing side has large windows (garden side) and there are no trees on the plot. In addition, there is a flat roof, and I suspect this will increase the temperature on the upper floor.

The location is Germany, not Spain, Italy, or similar, right?
To reduce air conditioning costs, I would definitely improve those aspects!
Air conditioning also has (high) ongoing expenses.

For example, external venetian blinds, roof and facade insulation, wide eaves, etc.

I would improve exactly that instead of spending money on air conditioning!
Air conditioning systems also have (high) ongoing costs. If it doesn’t cool down below 20°C (68°F) at night for 10 days in a row and temperatures exceed 30°C (86°F) during the day, even the best planning won’t help; the building mass will simply heat up.
What high ongoing costs does an air conditioning system have? Modern split units are very efficient, and electricity consumption is quite manageable.
