Hello,
I wanted to ask how long it took for you from signing the construction contract until the building company completed the building permit / planning permission application. I have been waiting for 5 weeks (1 month) now.

Misunderstood the question???

About 4 weeks, since everything was already available (plot and site plans). Also, some adjustments were still made to the floor plan 😉

4 weeks? That’s pretty fast. I also already have the plot of land, but I’ve been waiting 6 weeks for the documents.
If this keeps up, there won’t be any chance of starting construction in 2013.

In our case, it’s also taking quite a while. This is mainly because the construction company first estimates the expected costs based on the initial sketches, then the architect works, the construction company calculates the costs, the architect adjusts, the construction company recalculates, the architect … – we expect to have the final approval for the building permit / planning application drawings by early to mid next month. Well, the land title was transferred at the end of May.
There definitely won’t be any construction start this year. If the building permit / planning application does get approved at all this year, the basement builder will say: “Are you crazy? I won’t build a basement in freezing conditions!”

It also took us about 3-4 weeks, but unfortunately only because the surveyor was on vacation; otherwise, it would have been faster. However, we chose a house that already existed in its shell dimensions, so the plans were already available and only minor adjustments had to be made. Did you go for a standard house or a completely custom design? Best regards, Bastiann111
