I thought a garden chat and photo thread would be a good idea.
This way, we have a space to share current pictures and discuss dandelions and other plants.

That's exactly what I believe as well—you can apply impregnation by the liter, but it's not a good combination... and they're not exactly thick either^^

Because soil and wood are far from ideal, the treatment doesn’t last forever, and then the wood rots.

You don’t know my wood treatment … 😎

Sure, nothing lasts forever, not even black holes evaporate eventually. However, these boards will last significantly longer than just a few years 😉

The wood chips will slide down on you, I’ve tried that before as well.

They don’t really slide much. Some details of the slope aren’t visible. Our main goal is to minimize weeds, since working on a slope is by no means easy. If something does slip, it is much easier to move the wood chips back to the desired spot. Before, without the proper measures, that was much more difficult.

Could you maybe help us figure out what is wrong with our magnolia? It was purchased in May and has already had a few blooms. At first, there were some aphids on it, which we removed by hand. Suddenly, the leaves started to change color and dry out like this. However, it is producing new leaves, which also look like this after a short time. We only fertilized once with a bit of coffee grounds; otherwise, we just watered it. The soil is heavy topsoil with some clay content.

Small shrub with yellow-green leaves, some brown-stained leaves; grassy area in the background.

Waterlogging? At least here, it has felt like it has rained continuously for the past six months.

Here in the east, meaning in our area, there was not really much precipitation.
