Hello,

the garden shed I ordered will be arriving soon. I have designated an area in the garden for it, where there are leftover building materials (curbstones, small concrete debris, and similar items). Gravel will be added on top of this and then compacted to create a stable base for the garden shed.

The garden shed comes with its own floor made of OSB3 panels and will be delivered with an underlying timber frame.

Now, I am thinking of placing the existing paving stones on the gravel, and then installing the timber frame on top of them. Or should something be placed between the paving stones and the timber frame?

Thanks for your feedback!

Put weed control fabric and decorative gravel on top or a small concrete strip

@AxelH.

I need to ask again: I saw pads of about 10x10x1cm (4x4x0.4 inches) at t o o m. Are these placed only at specific points under the substructure, as shown in the picture from t o o m?

The building protection mat comes in rolls. If I choose this, should I lay only a strip lengthwise under the structure, rather than covering the entire footprint of the garden house, or should it be laid fully?

Thanks!

Yes, the pads are great, I used those. You place them specifically under the support battens. It’s perfect.

Yes! Exactly right. That fits perfectly.

Thank you both.

@Bookstar, do you have a picture of how it looks? Just to see a practical example 🙂

How many pads should one expect to use? Or, how many centimeters (inches) apart are the pads usually placed?

Thanks!

I need to make one tomorrow. I think I installed one approximately every 40cm (16 inches).
