I am looking for some constructive solutions for a canopy at the entrance area.
On the right side, we have a small bay window that projects about 1.20m (4 feet) out, then the entrance area, and then the garage, which is roughly at the same level as the bay window.
The gap between the bay window and the garage (about 6 meters (20 feet)) should be covered, as shown in the example photo.
I am now searching for suggestions on how to construct this canopy between the bay window and the garage.
Thanks in advance for your help.
Example photo. (here, the garage is not at the same level as the bay window as in my case)
Ground floor plan (area marked in red shows where the canopy should be)

By the way, what does your planner say about covering the entrance?

Otherwise, what does your planner say about covering the entrance?Well, it’s more for the appearance. It looks better with a continuous roof covering.
I was thinking of using steel profiles or wooden beams from the garage to the bay window, then cladding and plastering them. Of course, there should be a slope for rainwater drainage towards the bay window and the garage.
The planner didn’t say anything about this. He wasn’t constructive in that regard, which is why I wouldn’t recommend him.

hanghaus20001 Jul 2021 14:41How far along is the planning? Implementing your wishes is the planner’s job.
With the garage extending forward and the higher bay window, that will be difficult.

With the protruding garage and the higher bay window, that will be difficult.Planning and structural engineering are complete.
The architect is rather negative about the roofing. I think I would discuss this separately with a roofer.
If the garage has a height of 3m (10 feet) and the bay window 3.20m (10.5 feet), and the heights are gradually aligned, wouldn’t that look less appealing from the front view?
