That was a bit extreme.. But what can I do if it’s possible Could that possibly be coarse-grained fine plaster?
Do you know what fine plaster is? My friend mentioned it today, but I hadn’t heard of it before.
So far, I’ve received quotes for a two-coat plaster system: a base coat with a lightweight cement-lime plaster, Maxit IP 18 E. The top coat is a broom-textured plaster. However, this seems to be a very expensive option when I look at the quote. Is fine plaster better? Maybe an exterior plaster expert could give me some tips and shed some light on this.
Thanks 😉
And here’s the update: the topcoat plaster is finished, it just needs about 10 more days to dry before it can be painted, and the “annoying” scaffolding can finally come down (it will have been up for about 7 months by then!).

The base area is being worked on next. There’s still quite a bit missing, but that can be done without scaffolding.

Also, today the external blinds were finally measured. According to the blinds company, everything is perfectly prepared. We’re obviously very happy to hear that 😀
Our green roofs at the very top are also progressing slowly (and that despite temperatures of around 30°C (86°F) yesterday and today, thanks to my sister-in-law with the green thumb who followed the roofer’s instructions 😉)

We still have that topic ahead of us ^^
Sounds like you have the same plastering company -.–
Our construction company already hinted that there won’t be a date yet, because the company first has to catch up on the work delayed by the long winter (plus Covid including restrictions on the entry of Eastern European workers) which caused extreme delays…
I would also love to exchange the “colorful” house for our gray one and see the house without the scaffolding!
So, the plasterer for us is a local painting specialist company, all speaking “German” 😉 and personally known to us. He did really good work; so far, nobody has been able to find any faults in the execution. Our house builder even traveled specifically to check out the perfectly installed window sills. With wood fiber exterior insulation systems (WDVS), this is an extremely important point.
And the weather was simply against us this year when it came to plastering. Too wet, too cold, too inconsistent.
I completely stayed out of the green roof (except: OK, we’ll do it).
I need to ask about it tomorrow at breakfast, but several people here have a green roof.
