Hello,

I’m looking for a black oven and cooktop, preferably completely black. The cooktop should be an induction type with a width of 60cm (24 inches), not flush-mounted but frameless (no stainless steel frame). It doesn’t matter much to me whether they come as a set or separately.

I’m fairly open in terms of features. A roasting function isn’t necessary but would be nice to have. The oven should have the standard functions like convection/forced air. Pyrolytic cleaning is not required. Telescopic rails would be a plus.

Do you have any recommendations?

Gorenje models are around 500-600 euros, but I’m not sure about their quality.

Bosch can be found for 700-800 euros (HBA534EB0 and PUE611BB1E), but these seem to be discontinued models.

There is also a set from AEG, which, in my opinion, offers nearly every feature, including some I don’t really need. This set is listed for around 2000 euros in many online stores, but the local appliance store offers it for 1150 euros.
AEG HX6246MS3A

Ideally, I’d like to spend up to 700 euros, but it seems difficult to find a good quality option in full black within that price range.

I’m open to suggestions.

Best regards

A thousand manufacturers, a thousand models, a thousand different opinions.

What do you mean by good quality? 700€ is not an unreasonable amount for both devices together. You get what you pay for.

Ideally, a device that doesn’t break down after two years and simply has good quality that you enjoy using ;-) Of course, brands like AEG, Bosch, etc. can also fail after two years. But maybe Gorenje is a hidden gem in terms of quality. That’s why I’m asking whether the extra cost for discontinued models from, for example, Bosch is worth it. The AEG devices are almost too expensive for me.

I took a look at the appliances.
Something can always break, but it shouldn’t happen often even with the budget brands.
You can cook with all three options. Of course, the range of functions and quality improve with the price. Gorenje is not a hidden gem; it’s simply a brand in the budget segment—like how you can get from A to B with a Dacia.
I think AEG offers great value for the price, with many features at a good cost. Bosch is the middle ground.

P.S. AEG is not necessarily just AEG anymore. It is now part of Electrolux, and other manufacturers also sell products under the AEG name. Gorenje is owned by Hisense. Bosch is part of BSH, which includes Bosch, Siemens, Neff, Gaggenau, and others.

Agreed. Additionally, the heyday of good AEG appliances seems to be over. We still have the reliable AEG appliances (oven, dishwasher, washing machine...) from, believe it or not, 1996 😀 and are already thinking about what brands to choose for their replacements when we get new ones...
