Hello,
Now that the question of wallpaper or not has been answered, I would like to ask about wall paint recommendations.
At the hardware store, there is a brand called Alpina; it’s called Renovierweiss and costs 25 euros for a 10l (2.6 gallons) bucket.
Is it suitable to buy this, or should something higher quality be used, such as Brillux, for the walls?
Regards, Markus

I have never had any issues with Alpina, cheap paint from Obi, or anything in between. They all make the wall white. I have a self-employed master painter as a good friend, and he quickly moved away from cheap paint. Depending on the wall area, you have to apply 3 to 4 coats. Patchy wall surfaces are also not uncommon. I think in the end, it’s about the volume. If you’re painting a room here and there, then the inexpensive paint from the home improvement store will do the job.
Personally, I don’t like painting at all and want to get it done quickly — which means a maximum of two coats. We painted our entire house with Brillux Superlux 3000 and I have nothing negative to report, except perhaps the price.

On the other hand, what’s 200 or 300 euros difference for paint when building a house?
So, go ahead and treat yourself.
I also chose the expensive paint (Alpina) for my house. 😉
You should first clarify what is important to you. Personally, I also prefer Keim paints and in my own house I only use Biosil. Innostar is also a good paint, which can sometimes cover in just one coat.
But first, it’s important to consider what properties you need. Should the paint be especially abrasion-resistant, washable, or rather have the characteristics of silicate paints? Take a look at the differences between silicate and dispersion (emulsion) paints. That will cover the main options. You can find plenty of good paints in both categories.

So far, I haven’t looked into it in detail, but the company "Keim" has been recommended to me several times. Especially because they work in a “somewhat mineral-based” way. (I don’t know if this also applies to "Keim Biosil").
That means:
I am not familiar with Biosil, but I recommend taking a closer look at it.
