Hello everyone,
since I am not an expert in this field and want to avoid making mistakes, I would like to know your opinion.
We have purchased a newly built house from a developer, and currently the electrician is working on the property. A high-voltage connection is planned for the garage. However, an electric or hybrid car is not planned within the next 1-2 years. Does it make sense to have a wall box installed right away because of the current incentives? At least that is what the electrician suggested.
Or is just running the cable enough for now (is there any funding for that)? How would you proceed?
Thanks for your advice.

Mennekes, Keba, Webasto, ABL…
Depending on your budget and desired features…
I have a Mennekes (22 kW). But the others are probably just as good for home use.
Keba is also very sturdy. The design is just a bit outdated.
The question is whether you need a calibrated meter (e.g. for billing to an employer, or authorization via RFID…) Once you have answered these points for yourself, there probably aren’t many options left anyway.
What do I need that for? The wall box will be installed in the carport and will always be blocked by at least one vehicle. I have Keba at work, they are indeed a bit old-fashioned. But they would be sufficient if necessary. It doesn’t really need to be smart either, which wouldn’t work anyway since there is no communication to the inverter.

Kostal simply doesn’t have a wall box yet that can communicate with my inverter. It is supposed to come in 2021.

Then you have free choice;)

Communication with the inverter can be established in various ways. Whether it makes sense for you, I don’t know. For example, eCHARGE photovoltaic system - wallbox (up to 11 kW) including smart meter

We had two Heidelberg Energy Control units installed, including the subsidy. Since all the wiring was already in place, it was almost cost-neutral. Electricity is generated, and the car charges. Nothing more is needed at the moment. For a new build, I might consider something with more connectivity.

Autoaid "intelligent wallbox 11kWh". RFID unlocking and Wi-Fi.
I hope mine will finally arrive in about 2 weeks. Ordered shortly after Christmas.

Here I am again. My confused electrician accidentally called me today, so I was able to bring up the topic.
He said I should buy the wallbox myself and he would then install it because a) it’s usually cheaper online than through the wholesaler, and b) it could take until October for the wholesaler to deliver the part for installation.

So the question is, can I order online and have the electrician install it? Would that affect eligibility for subsidies? If yes, how can this be avoided while still purchasing it myself?

Including installation and everything else? So what are you waiting for?

But the wallbox only supports 11kW, you are aware of that? For example, I have an Alfen, which can be upgraded via software to 22kW (officially for 30€).

Could you please tell me your exact model? Thanks
