Hello,

I want to run a few cables from the house to the prefabricated garage (excavation work will start soon). For example, power, network, and KNX. On one hand, I’m wondering how to get the cables out of the house (basement) — we are building a KfW40 energy-efficient house — and then how to get them into the garage. Ideally, I would like to use empty conduits.

- At the house: How can the cables be routed out without compromising airtightness and insulation?

- Into the garage: I will be approaching the prefabricated garage underground. How do you get the cables or conduits inside? The prefabricated garage (at least that’s my understanding) is delivered completely finished and placed onto strip foundations.....

Nida35a, thanks for the information. Does everything fit through an empty conduit, for example the gas conduit?

And how was the whole thing routed into the garage?

Yes, all of this goes through an MSE pipe. The cable was routed inside a trench to a corner during the construction of the carport and shed, left loose under a bucket, and then installed inside.

OK, great. How do you route the cables into the garage then? I am getting a prefabricated garage, which means it will be delivered complete with the base slab and placed on the foundations...

Then ask the manufacturer about the cable entry point in the finished garage and route the cable through this entry.
If there isn't one, create it yourself using a drill.

I have already done that. But I didn’t understand the answer. He suggested drilling a hole between the wall and the floor slab. Then you would see the cables coming out of the floor, right, or did I misunderstand something?

Drill method, and have it installed yourself.
The first drilled hole in the new house or garage really hurts.
